Travel in London Bloomsbury
Bloomsbury is bounded by 4 major roads in central London - Euston road, Grays Inn Road, High Holborn
and Tottenham Court road. From the moment you pass over one of these roads you notice a slight decrease in traffic
noise and a slight increase in air quality. Bloomsbury is the leafy central London district with a bizarre one way
traffic system which many motorists simply avoid rather than attempt to conquer. Bloomsbury is serviced by great
public transport links which makes travel in London Bloomsbury very accessible. For ease of reference for

It's serviced by two mainline railways stations - Euston and
Kingscross St Pancras, the later also serves as the international terminal for
Eurostar from which you can catch trains to Paris and onwards to Brussels, making
Bloomsbury an international destination and point of departure.
Tube stations are abundant also, which is what you'd expect from a
central London location Euston Square and Kingscross to the North,
Goodge Street, Warren Street and Tottenham Court Road to
the West, Holborn and Chancery Lane to the South and right in the heart of
Bloomsbury is Russell Square on the Piccadilly Line which affords you a direct link to
Heathrow International Airport.

There's a major Bus Terminus in Euston also and many local bus routes also
terminate in Russell Square. Many London Bus tours
also originate in Woburn Place.
Getting around Bloomsbury is nothing short of a walkers paradise with many parks and quiet squares,
excellent cycle lanes with hiring bike stands scattered liberally throughout the district.
For excellent official information on travel arrangements please refer to the Transport for London official website.
Bloomsbury also offers and excellent base for staying in Central London and
you're literally minutes away either walking or by tube to all major London attractions, including:
Covent Garden (15 mins walk)
Trafalgar Square (15 mins Walk)
Leicester Square (15 mins Walk)
Oxford Street (10 mins walk)
Soho (10 mins walk)
Knightsbridge/South Kensington (7 mins tube)
The local automated travelcard, the Oyster Card, can be purchased in many of the local newsagents and is well
advertised on shop-fronts. This card serves as a prepayment method for all public travel throughout London, for
tube and bus and some London over ground routes. It's well worth purchasing this card on either
a pay as you go or one of the many multi-day packages as otherwise travelling can prove rather expensive in
London simply buying tickets as you go.
Your onward journey is equally well serviced by these links and of course there's the ever present London Black
cab presence wherever you look. There are also various car hire companies in and around Bloomsbury which will
deliver cars to you, if you so desire, or park locally making it reasonably easy for you to obtain and dirve
onwards to your next destination.
